  NOHA Hosts Inaugural NOHA Referee School

  

  Twenty Officials from across Northern Ontario descended upon North Bay this past weekend, August 12-14, 2011, to participate in the inaugural NOHA Referee School at Nipissing University.  Click here for more information.

Most Deserving Official – Don Brown

Jim Conners Memorial Award – Justin Sawyer

Most Promising Official – Cavan Laferriere

Most Improved Official – Josh Houslander

• The NOHA Officiating Recruitment Video, aimed at Minor Hockey Players who wish to remain involved in the game, is available to download here. 

• During the 2010-2011 season, the NOHA hosted Officiating Seminars in conjunction with Grassroots Festivals in the following communities:  Mattice, Temiskaming Shores, Little Current, Desbarats, North Bay, and Cochrane.  More of these great learning opportunities will be available next season. 

• T.J. Foster from Astorville, was appointed as a Referee in the Ontario Hockey League. 

• Scott Ferguson, from Sudbury, has been assigned to Referee in the Memorial Cup, to begin on Friday, May 20, 2011 in Mississauga. 

• Congratulations to the Officials who attended the 2011 NOHA Development Camp that was held in conjunction with the NOHA Under 17 Camp.  The following Officials attended the Camp:  Owen Rigg (Timmins), John O'Hara (Sudbury), Andrew McKenney (Sault Ste. Marie), Jordan Favaro (Sault Ste. Marie), James Warmington (Sault Ste. Marie), Nick Rivet (North Bay), Danny Clermont (North Bay), Alexandre Papineau (Cochrane) and Justin Sawyer (Kapuskasing).  Details on the 2012 NOHA Development Camp will be available in December.
