PROGRAM INFORMATION 

The 2012 NOHA Officials Program of Excellence Development Camp will be held April 20-22, 2012 at the Don Shepherdson Arena in New Liskeard.

The purpose of the camp is to provide promising young officials with a unique program to assist in their development as Hockey Officials.  A number of Officials who have attended this Camp have moved up to officiate at the Midget AAA and Junior A levels over the last several seasons.  David Brisebois (NHL Linesman), TJ Foster (OHL Referee) and Dustin McCrank (OHL Linesman) are some of the notable Officials to have participated in the Development Camp. 

At the camp, officials will participate in ice sessions and classroom seminars and will officiate games during the Under 17 Camp. 

The NOHA Officials Program of Excellence will be conducted for nine (9) officials.  Selection criteria are as follows:

a) Six Positions for:

   - 16-25 years old

   - Minimum HCOP Level 2 Certification and active official in the NOHA.

b) Three Positions for:

-          Any official in the NOHA regardless of level or age who is interested in improving his/her skills as an official        

NOTE: Any official who attends may be upgraded by one stage up to and including full level 3 certification.  i.e.) a Level 2 attends; he will receive 3-1 when complete.  All officials will be writing the OHF level 3 exam.

The camp sessions will include the following:

a) Ice Sessions

b) Game Sessions

c) Assignments

d) Rule Book Sessions

e) Case Book Sessions

f) On-Ice Evaluations

The fee is $226.00 ($200.00 + HST) and includes two nights’ accommodation, meals, and clinic.
