REGULATION NUMBER THREE

PLAYERS

R.3.1. A player living in a community not represented by a team in a division for which the player is eligible, is automatically released from the team for which the player played the previous season when a new entry is received closer to the player's residence.

R.3.2. Any player registered as a playing coach will be considered as released from his/her club as a player if he/she is released as coach.

R.3.3. Players participating with a CIS, NCAA or CCAA team after January 10th of the current season shall be ineligible for participation with a HC team during that season.

R.3.6. Any properly registered player is eligible to play in NOHA play-offs, provincial or inter-provincial playdowns whether the player has played a league game with the team or not.

R.3.7. Teams will be permitted to use, in NOHA competition, players who have transferred from another branch of the HC or from the IIHF only to the following extent:

Senior AAA - Six

Senior AA - Six

All other Senior Teams - Two

Junior Team - Eight

R.3.8. FEES: To and from USA Hockey - $150.00 per player. To and from IIHF - as set each year by the IIHF and HC

R.3.9. A replacement for a goalkeeper who may be seriously ill, or be injured so as to prevent his/her playing with his/her team may be permitted, upon the production of medical evidence satisfactory to the President. Such medical evidence shall be from the findings of a duly qualified practitioner appointed by the NOHA. Application for such replacement shall be made to the President of the NOHA until the team enters HC inter-branch playdowns, after which time it shall be made to the HC.

R.3.10. The player obtained under Item R.3.9. must be from the same or lower division or category and from within the NOHA, and must be registered and join the team within 10 days of the date on which the injured or medically unfit goalkeeper played his/her last game, or prior to the next scheduled game of his/her team, if his/her team is not scheduled to play within the 10 day period. The replacement goalkeeper shall be used as a regular goalkeeper and will be permitted to play at the discretion of the coach.

R.3.11. A replacement goalkeeper cannot be replaced by another replacement goalkeeper unless he/she is medically unfit.

R.3.12. The regular goalkeeper shall return to competition as soon as medical evidence indicates that it is in order for the goaltender to do so and the replacement shall return to his/her original team.

R.3.13. A replacement goalkeeper acquired under Items R.3.9. to R.3.12., from a team of a lower category or division, may return to his/her original team regardless of the number of games played in the higher category or division, provided permission was obtained prior to his/her playing as a replacement.
